Project Summary

This project aims to develop small and medium-sized social enterprises in Georgia and Latvia to work and adapt their services to the tourism sector in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The project involves identifying social enterprises that could provide services in the tourism sector, improving the capacity of social enterprises and civil society organizations to provide quality tourism services and cooperate with tourism agencies, promoting innovative approaches to cope with the pandemic, and facilitating networking and knowledge exchange among social entrepreneurs. The project activities are structured in four phases, including mapping, capacity building and product/service development, developing travel itineraries, and experience exchange visits. The direct project results include the identification of potential cooperation partners, meetings with social entrepreneurs in different regions, workshops, counseling sessions, and travel itineraries to explore social enterprises in different regions.

Project Objectives

The project aims to contribute to the development of the social entrepreneurship ecosystem and social impact in Georgia by developing small and medium-sized social enterprises to work and adapt their services to work in the tourism sector:

  • Identify social enterprises that could provide services in the tourism sector
  • Improve the capacity, knowledge, and skills of social enterprises, NGOs, and civil society organizations to provide tourism services of the appropriate quality and to cooperate with tourism agencies
  • Promote the capacity of tourism and other social entrepreneurs to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic through innovative approaches
  • Provide networking and meeting opportunities for social entrepreneurs, promote the exchange of experience and knowledge
